What Size is the Sea-Doo Fish Pro?

The smaller Fish Pro, the Scout is built on the more compact GTI platform, which is 130.6 inches long, 49.2 inches wide, and 46.1 inches high. In contrast, the Sport and Trophy come on the larger ST3 hull, which is 146.8 inches long, 49.4 wide, and 45.3 inches high. This platform is not only more stable but also features an easy-access front storage.

How Much Does the Sea-Doo Fish Pro Weigh?

The dry weight of the 2024 Sea-Doo Fish Pro Scout is 785 pounds, while the Sport weighs 853 pounds.

With the fuel and the required liquids, the curb weight of the Scout jumps up to 895 pounds. With an official Sea-Doo Move trailer, you can expect the total weight of the setup to be in the 1,120-1,130 range.

The curb weight of the Fish Pro Sport is 977 pounds, which translates to an estimated total weight of 1,208 pounds with the trailer.

The heaviest Fish Pro is the Trophy with its curb weight of 938 pounds (cca. 1,300 pounds with the trailer.

(The weight of the official Sea-Doo MOVE I Extended 1250 trailer is 213 pounds.)

What Kind of Engine Do the Sea-Doo Fish Pro PWCs Have?

As a rule of thumb, each Sea-Doo Fish Pro is powered by the same Rotax 1630 ACE engine. This 1630cc, naturally-aspirated, 4-stroke, 3-cylinder engine features the Sea-Doo exclusive CLSC (closed-loop cooling system) and fuel-injection system.

How Much Horsepower Does a Sea-Doo Fish Pro Have?

Thanks to this high-performance 1630cc Rotax power mill, the Sea-Doo Trophy, and the Sport deliver 170 HP, while the performance of the Scout is limited to 130 HP.

How Fast is the 2024 Sea-Doo Fish Pro?

The top speed of the Fish Pro Sport and Trophy is a remarkable 56-58 mph while the less powerful Scout tops out at 50-52 mph under ideal conditions.

Don’t forget that the available top speed depends on many factors, so it differs slightly from one ride to the next.

What is the Weight Capacity of the Sea-Doo Fish Pro?

The official weight capacity of each 2024 Sea-Doo Fish Pro model is 600 pounds.

How Much Fuel Can a Sea-Doo Fish Pro Hold?

The fuel capacity of the Sea-Doo Fish Pro family is 18.5 gallons.

How Much Fuel Does a Sea-Doo Fish Pro Use?

Based on this real-world test below, the fuel economy of the 170 HP Sea-Doo Fish Pro is about 1.246 miles per liter, which translates to 5.15 miles per gallon. Boatsales.com also reports that they found that the Sea-Doo Fish Pro 170 consumed about 45 liters per 100 km, which can be converted to 5.17 miles per gallon. You can expect slightly better fuel economy on the Scout, as its performance is only 130 HP.

However, keep in mind that all of these models are powered by the same 1630cc 3-cylinder engine, just the Scout comes with an electronically limited engine option. Therefore, the difference in their fuel consumption is insignificant.

Also, don’t forget that the fuel economy of a PWC depends on many factors like the conditions, speed, the load on the craft, and many others.

What is the Fuel Range of the Sea-Doo Fish Pro?

Thanks to their 18.5-gallon fuel tank, the 170 HP Sea-Doo Fish Pro models have a fuel range of about 95 miles. The GTI-based Scout with the 16.5-gallon fuel cell offers nearly the same fuel range thanks to its better fuel consumption.

However, it’s safe to say that it’s just a “theoretical fuel range,” as it is recommended that you only use 2/3 of the fuel for safety reasons. It is always wise to save 1/3 of the fuel for emergencies!

If we do the math, we get the “real” fuel range of a 170 HP Sea-Doo Fish Pro, which is 95 x (2/3) = 63.3 miles.

Sure, the rear platform provides plenty of space for LinQ fuel cans. Two of these cans with a capacity of 3.8 gallons each can increase the fuel range by 40 percent!

Let’s get back to the math:

Total fuel capacity (gas tank + 2 x 3.8-gallon gas cans): 18.5 + (2 x 3.8) = 26.1 gallons

Fuel range (with the 1/3 safety reserve): (5.15 MPG x 26.1 gallon) x (2/3) = 90 miles

Based on this calculation, with a full (18.5-gallon) tank of gas extended with two 3.8-gallon LinQ fuel cans, you can expect a 170 HP Sea-Doo Fish Pro’s fuel range to be about 90 miles.

How Shallow Can a Sea-Doo Fish Pro Go?

According to the official operator’s guide, the Sea-Doo Fish Pro needs at least 3 feet of water underneath the lowest point of its hull to run properly.

If the water depth is not adequate, you risk the pump sucking up rocks, shells, and debris from the bottom, resulting in permanent impeller damage.

Does the Sea-Doo Fish Pro Have Reverse?

Yes, each Sea-Doo Fish Pro model is equipped with the innovative iBR designed to brake and reverse the machine. What’s more, the handlebar-controlled iBR also helps the machine to turn more tightley, which comes in handy in marinas and around docks.

Here’s a short video on how Sea-Doo Fish Pro’s reverse and brake system works:

Can You Troll with a Sea-Doo Fish Pro?

Trolling is one of the most effective techniques for catching more fish. Because of this, it’s safe to say that “trolling mode” is now standard on any dedicated fishing vessel.

That’s why each Sea-Doo Fish Pro comes with “Slow Mode” speed control, allowing you to set trolling speeds of up to 8 mph.

How Many Passengers Can Sea-Doo Fish Pro PWCs Carry?

Each Sea-Doo Fish Pro can carry three passengers safely and legally. Unlike the smaller Rec-Lite models, these large PWCs can comfortably accommodate three adults.

Which Fish Finder is on the Sea-Doo Fish Pro?

Sea-Doo Fish Pros come with two different types of Garmin GPS and Fish Finders. The Scout and Sport models are equipped with a 6-inch Garmin Echomap Plus 62cv Fish Finder/GPS, while the flagship Trophy comes with a more advanced 7-inch touchscreen Garmin.

The latter is considered a high-end navigation system as besides the mapping, it has an advanced fish-finding system featuring mid-CHIRP sonar and an in-hull transducer.

As an addition, these Garmins come with a token that provides free access to regional maps.

Do Sea-Doo Fish Pros Come with a Trailer?

Contrary to popular belief, Sea-Doo Fish Pros come without a trailer, so you must purchase it separately. Best practice is to invest in an official Sea-Doo MOVE trailer to make sure the trailer fits your new ski perfectly.

But if you’re looking for cheaper alternatives or looking for something special, you can literally choose from hundreds of different PWC trailers.
