Sea-Doo RXT-X 325 Review

The Sea-Doo RXT Line

The history of RXTs started with the legendary RXT 215, introduced in 2005.

The Sea-Doo RXT family was a unique blend of touring and performance models.

Over the years the manufacturer released many great RXTs, which were as follows:

(You can discover each model by following the links in the list.)In this post, we will take a closer look at the latest and most powerful Sea-Doo RXT ever built, the 2024 RXT-X 325.

Sea-Doo RXT-X 325 Engine and Propulsion

There’s no question that the most exciting novelty on the RXT-X 325 is its 325hp engine.

The predecessor of this power source was the proven 1630 Rotax ACE 300, which was the high-end Sea-Doo engine from 2018 through 2023.

This 300hp power mill was upgraded for the 2024 model year with the 1630 Rotax ACE 325 rated at 325hp.

This power source not only delivers an additional 25 horsepower but also has many upgrades, including:

  • Upgraded, ceramic thermal-coated pistons (for better heat mitigation and less friction)
  • Revamped, fast-spinning supercharger (featuring a larger intake and smaller impeller)
  • Thicker valve rockers
  • Lowered crankcase
  • Less restrictive air intake system for easier breathing
  • Revamped intake valve train
  • Exhaust manifold equipped with an o2 sensor
  • Higher REV limit (8000 to 8250 RPM)
  • Upgraded fuel pump and engine management system
  • New spark plugs
Other features of the Rotax 1630 ACE 325 include: Thanks to these upgrades, the revamped engine can reach a higher (8250) peak RPM while delivering an incredible 325hp.

With this outstanding performance, the Rotax 1630 ACE 325 is right now the most powerful jet ski engine out of the box.

The power is transferred to a high-performance axial-flow, single-stage jet pump via a direct drive shaft. It’s equipped with an extended VTS and a polished stainless-steel impeller to handle the increased engine power.

Drawbacks?

To the greatest regret of many fans, this engine is only available on the RXP-X 325 and RXT-X 325 this model year. However, we’re sure that it will find its way into the top-of-the-line GTX models soon.

We also have to mention that the 325hp Sea-Doos can’t be opted for with the popular iDF system due to their unique engine design.

Sea-Doo RXT-X 325 Hull

Unlike the engine, the body of the RXT-X 325 has been carried over from the previous model year without any significant changes.

Like any other RXT and GTX model since 2018, the RXT-X 325 also enjoys the sporty ST3 hull.

This amazing platform has built a reputation for stability and great rough water handling. This is why RXT and GTX Sea-Doos are considered some of the best offshore PWCs ever built.

In terms of dimensions, the RXT-X 300 and RXT-X 325 are completely identical; they measure 135.9 inches in length, 49.4 inches in width, and 45.2 in height.

The roomy top deck offers plenty of space and encloses an 18.5-gallon fuel tank.

You can expect the total storage capacity of the ski to be 26.1 gallons split into a 0.8-gallon glovebox and the Direct-Access Front Storage rated at 25.3 gallons.

The latter is a Sea-Doo-exclusive front storage that is accessible directly from the seat without leaning over the handlebars.

Regarding color schemes, you can choose from Fiery Red Premium or Ice Metal and Manta Green.

Sea-Doo RXT-X 325 Features

Just like its predecessor, the RXT-X 325 comes standard with many innovative features like extended VTS, the Premium Tech Package, the race-inspired X-Package, and the Ergolock racing saddle. It is also equipped with an innovative 7.8-inch touchscreen with many useful functions like gauges, navigation, weather reports, and more.

You can listen to your favorite songs on the integrated BRP Bluetooth Audio Premium system, which also comes standard on the ski.

In summary, the most important features of the RXT-X 325 are as follows:

The main functions of its 7.8” LCD display are as follows:

  • Music
  • BRP Connect
  • Weather
  • Bluetooth connectivity

Sea-Doo RXT-X 325 Performance

The RXT line is built for aggressive rides, and the RXT-X 325 brings plenty of pride to her name.

Thanks to its industry-leading engine power, it offers extreme accelerations and a (limited) top speed of 67 mph.

As one may expect, the ski has gained some weight due to its engine upgrades. How much?

The dry weight of the RXT-X 325 is 842 pounds while the RXT-X 300 was 829 pounds, which means a 13- pound weight increase.

However, this weight still converts into a better power-to-weight ratio, which has increased from .362 to .386 hp/lb. respectively.

Its proven ST3 hull is known for its outstanding stability and predictability. Yet, it’s still playful and turns very tightly in experienced hands.

The race-inspired accessories including the narrow Ergolock seat with knee pads, the adjustable X-sponsons, extended VTS, and the launch control also help you to get the most out of the machine.

The ski also comes standard with the iBR brake and reverse system, and the iTC throttle control which ensure easy and safe handling.

Based on your skills and needs you can choose from various riding modes, including:

  • Sport mode
  • ECO mode
  • Slow mode
  • Speed regulator
  • Launch control
