Sea-Doo LinQ Accessories Revealed [Video]
Last Updated on
If you have ever tried to carry more gear or fuel cans on your Sea-Doo, you probably realized that it can sometimes be tricky.
Let’s face it, stuff mounted with straps on the deck is neither safe nor stylish.
Although Sea-Doos (and other PWCs) may already be alternatives to boats to a certain level, when it comes to storage space, they lag behind. Despite the increased size in storage compartments over the years, it seems the riders always need more capacity, as they want to take coolers, fuel cans, bags and a lot of other gear with them.
What’s more, beyond the space issues, it’s strictly forbidden to store fuel cans in the PWC’s storage bin. Therefore, in the past, you had to leave your extra fuel and gear at the dock unless you attached them somehow on the rear platform. To solve these issues, Sea-Doo released the unique LinQ system which means these issues no longer cause headaches.
Sea-Doo LinQ System Review
Sea-Doo was always known as the main innovator in the PWC industry. Their unique technical solutions always offer more comfort and fun, and also make life easier on the water.
When it comes to storage solutions, their amazing LinQ system is not an exception. With this simple but innovative cargo system, you can mount the perfectly-designed accessories easily to your Sea-Doo’s swim platform.
No more unwieldy fuel cans and gear attached to your Sea-Doo with straps! You can find the durable pop-up LinQ attachment cleats are integrated into the deck, so they’re completely recessed when they’re not in use.
The main advantage of this system is that it’s completely tool-less so you can attach the different units to the platform by hand in a single motion. Once they’re mounted in place, they attach to the deck securely without any vibration. So it’s not just fast and easy to use, but safe and stylish at the same time.
Moreover, they are compatible with the Can-Am ATVs as well as Ski-Doo snowmobiles, as BRP uses the same LinQ cargo system on these lines as well. Are you wondering what would be the best addition to your Sea-Doo? Without further ado, let’s look at the new Sea-Doo LinQ accessories!
Sea-Doo LinQ Accessories
Sea-Doo’s offerings include the most important units you’ll need on the water, such as:
- Fuel Caddy
- Watertight Bag
- Cargo Box
- Small Cooler (4.2 Gal)
- Big Cooler (13.5 Gal)
- Fishing Rod Holder
- LinQ Retractable Ski Pylon
All of these LinQ accessories can be attached to the rock-solid attachment points on the deck, and some of them can be mounted even on the top of the fuel caddy. As all of these specially-designed Sea-Doo units have their advantages, they deserve a closer look.
Sea-Doo LinQ Fuel Caddy
It’s no doubt that one of the most practical and popular accessories is the LinQ Fuel Caddy with 4 gallons capacity and an easy no-spill pouring system.
Fuel docks can’t be found on every corner, and you never know when you’ll need extra fuel What’s more, today’s performance Sea-Doos are well-known for burning 20-25 gallons of gas in a single hour, so a fuel caddy may come in handy in many situations.
The main advantage of its design is that you can mount the LinQ Bag atop the caddy for extra storage capacity. Unfortunately, these special Sea-Doo fuel cans can’t be stacked. And don’t worry about losing the rubber cap by accident as it’s attached to the caddy with a flexible leash. But even if it is taken away, replacement caps are also available in Sea-Doo’s offering.
Another great benefit of this product is that you can use it in a saltwater environment as it’s marinized by default. With a $200 price tag, the LinQ fuel caddy may not be the cheapest Sea-Doo accessory, but it’s worth every penny.
LinQ Watertight Bag
The next superb Sea-Doo accessory is the LinQ Watertight Bag. It’s a heavy-duty, adjustable, semi-rigid storage unit with maximum 10.6-gallons capacity. It has a really practical design; the waterproof roll-top keeps the water out while the bottom is supported with foam-lining to better protect your gear. It also features a handle so you can easily move it by hand.
Just like the fuel caddy, this bag also arrives with the Marinized LinQ Hardware Kit which makes it perfect for saltwater use. The useful and practical LinQ Watertight Bag is available for $190 this year.
If you’re in need of extra storage but are looking for more protection, the Sea-Doo LinqQ Box is for you. This rigid and durable storage box is made of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) and offers 5 gallons of capacity. The LinQ Box features a lockable, water-resistant cover and can be used in a saltwater environment. If this durable LinQ storage from Sea-Doo meets your expectations, you can purchase it for $145.
Big LinQ Cooler (13.5 Gal)
When it comes to coolers, Sea-Doo offers two different models with LinQ system. The first model is a durable, huge unit with an incredible 13.5 gallons capacity. Inside the water-resistant shell, the high-quality foam ensures the best ice retention. The cooler includes several practical features, several accessories (big pocket, recessed area on the lid, drain, etc.) which can be useful especially if you’re considering PWC fishing.
Moreover, you can mount the special Sea-Doo fishing rod holders directly on the cooler without any tools. It’s a really popular solution among PWC fishermen, as mounting a large fishing rack on the swim platform is always a hassle, which in many cases, involves drilling the deck. That’s why this LinQ cooler is so amazing, because with the extra rod holders, it’s a complete Sea-Doo fishing rack, which you can add and remove with one move!
It’s a perfect place for your beverages, bait and your catches of course. This cooler is a standard on the Sea-Doo Fish Pro, but you can also purchase it separately for $670.
Quick-Attach Rod Holder
This aforementioned Sea-Doo rod holder can be mounted on the side of the LinQ cooler. You can simply add it in the slotted bars with the quick attachment system.
Moreover, you can set the rod holders in 30 different positions based on your needs. These unique holders are the best place for your fishing rods as they hold firmly, but you can also release the rods easily when needed. For the same reason, they are perfect even for troll fishing.
As a bonus, you can place an umbrella in one of the rod holders when you’re fishing or just having a chill on the water. It’s always wise to protect yourself from the sun! That’s why this unit is an useful addition to the LinQ cooler ( for just $25). And it’s not just for fishing pros!
Small LinQ Cooler (4.2 Gal)
Let’s face it, the large cooler has many great features, but it hogs a great deal of the rear platform. Unless you have a Fish Pro, on a smaller swim platform, space could be an issue.
So if you’re not a fishing enthusiasts but still want to keep some snacks and beverages cool, you should take a look at the small LinQ cooler, with only 4.2 gallons of capacity.
While its quality does not lag behind the big brother, it’s much more affordable as you can purchase it for only $305. And finally, probably the best feature of this cooler is it can be used as a small table, while you have a face-to-face picnic on the water. (Thanks to the modular Sea-Doo seats.)
LinQ Ski Pylon
LinQ Retractable Ski Pylon is a unique addition from Sea-Doo for watersports lovers. If you like wakeboarding or wakeskating, this Sea-Doo wakeboard tower is for you. It keeps your tow rope in a higher position which means a better wakeboarding experience, higher jumps and less chance to suck your tow rope into the pump.
The pylon is equipped with grab handles for the spotter and can be retracted when it’s out of use or can even be easily removed with the quick release system. This Sea-Doo Ski Pylon is standard on the Wake PRO, or can be purchased for $315.
Sea-Doo LinQ Installation Kit
Do you have a Sea-Doo without the LinQ system and wonder if it can be installed on the eariler models as well? The good news is that the manufacturer offers a special installation kit, which is compatible with several models:
- GTI, and GTS
- GTR (2011-2019)
- GTR-X (2017-2019)
- GTX (2016-2017)
- RXP (2012 and up)
- RXT-X (2016-2017)
- Spark 2UP and 3UP
By installing this kit, you can attach all of the available LinQ accessories to your Sea-Doo, except the large (13.5 Gal.) cooler as it’s not compatible with this system.
Mounting gear and fuel cans to the Sea-Doo’s swim platform were always a hassle. Don’t even mention the bulky and heavy fishing racks! Fortunately, we don’t have to struggle with straps and racks anymore, as Sea-Doo invented the unique LinQ system.
This durable and flexible cargo system has two attachment points, integrated into the rear platform. Several different LinQ accessories are available, like the fuel caddy, box and cargo bag, coolers and a ski pylon. You can add and remove these units with just one move without any tools or additional equipment. We can call this system easy to use!
Drawbacks? Probably just the price, as these are definitely not the cheapest Sea-Doo accessories on the market. If your Sea-Doo doesn’t feature a LinQ system, don’t worry, as the manufacturer offers a LinQ kit, which can be installed separately for several current and earlier models.
