Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty and talk about these new models and their novelties in detail!

2025 WaveRunner Lineup

JetBlaster

After eight years of production, Yamaha discontinued its widely popular EX series.

To be more precise, this model line was phased out by the all-new JetBlaster series in the Rec-Lite WaveRunner segment.

Introduced in 2022, the first-generation JetBlaster was a more featured EX WaveRunner with some “Sea-Doo Spark Trixx-inspired” accessories.

Aside from these model-specific accessories and the unique color scheme, the 2020-2024 JetBlaster shared its body and TR-1 engine with the EX line.

But everything changed for 2025 when the JetBlaster was upgraded with an entirely new body.

Its all-new, three-piece top deck is made of polypropylene while the hull is made of SMC fiberglass or NanoXcel depending on the model.

Compared to the retired EX, this platform is shorter and slightly lighter as well.

Unlike the shell, the heart of the JetBlaster has been carried over from its predecessor without any significant changes.

The proven TR-1 Yamaha marine engine delivers 90hp in the base and Deluxe models, and 110hp in the  LTD/PRO variants.

This engine is paired with a 144mm jet pump and fed from a 13.2-gallon fuel tank.

When it comes to different models, the PRO series is intended to compete with the Sea-Doo Spark Trixx.

They come standard with an extended VTS system, adjustable handlebars, and step wedges.

These features help you perform playful tricks like spins, power slides, wheelies, doughnuts, and more.

If you are looking for the most luxurious JetBlaster, the LTD (read: Limited) is for you. It comes with a lot of bells and whistles including a branded cover, stern storage, and footwell speakers.

Models and prices (USD):

  • JetBlaster: $7,999
  • JetBlaster DLX 2up: $8,999
  • JetBlaster DLX 3up: $9,999
  • JetBlaster LTD: $11,799
  • JetBlaster Pro 2up: $11,199
  • JetBlaster Pro 3up: $11,799

VX Series

Unlike their siblings, mid-sized (Recreation) VX WaveRunners have remained almost unchanged for this season.

One of the few changes was the electronic upgrades on the VX Limited and the VX Limited HO, which now enjoy a digital microphone and more powerful 40W Yamaha Audio speakers.

Aside from these and some “bold new graphics,” the rest of the VX line has been mechanically carried over unchanged from 2024.

Models and prices (USD):

  • VX-C: $10,599
  • VX: $11,799
  • VX Deluxe: $12,899
  • VX Cruiser: $13,299
  • VX Cruiser HO: 1.9L $14,199
  • VX Limited: $14,499
  • VX Limited HO: $15,899

FX Series

After the introduction of its naturally aspirated configuration, many performance-minded riders were expecting a supercharged version of the 1.9L Yamaha Marine engine.

But contrary to expectations, the flagship FX SVHO returned with the proven 16-year-old 1.8L supercharged “SVHO” engine variant rated at 250hp.

This is especially interesting in light of the fact that its rival Sea-Doo upgraded its high-end GTX Limited from 300 to 325hp. (This 325hp power option made its way from the high-performance RXP-X 325 and RXT-X 325).

Its smaller brother, the FX HO enjoys a naturally-aspirtated version of the revamped 1.9L power mill rated at 200hp.

Just like their power sources, the body of the FX line also remained nearly unchanged, except for the redesigned Connext infotainment dashboard. Compared to the old dash, this unit is not only larger but it also features a more angular design.

It houses a 7-inch full-color touchscreen that comes standard with three customized background themes and updated Connext software.

Just like VX Limited models, the Yamaha Audio system of the FX line has also been enhanced with the larger, 6.5-inch speakers.

(It comes standard on the SVHO and as an option on HO models).

Models and prices: (USD)

  • FX HO: $16,399
  • FX Cruiser HO: $17,699
  • FX SVHO: $19,999
  • FX Cruiser SVHO: $20,599
  • FX Limited SVHO: $21,199

GP Line

Let’s face it, the high-performance GP WaveRunners can’t enjoy too much development either.

The proven GP HO and SVHO still share the same NanoXcel2 hull, which shares its hull design with the VX series.

They also utilize naturally-aspirated 1.9L HO (200hp) and supercharged 1.8L (250hp) engines, respectively.

Even though the GPs lack the upgraded infotainment center of the FX line, their Connext software has been upgraded.

And, the revamped audio system is also available on the GPs as an option.

Models and prices:

  • GP HO: $14,999
  • GP SVHO: $17,499

SuperJet

Last but not least, the 4-stroke SuperJet is still available without any noticeable changes.

However, its price has been increased by $300 from $10,699 to $10,999.

Takeaways

It’s safe to say that the most exciting upgrade in the 2025 WaveRunner lineup is the all-new JetBlaster.

Replacing the EXs in the Rec-Lite segment, the JetBlaster returns as a complete series of six different models.

They share the same body, which can be opted with different seat and engine configurations (90/110hp).

Unlike their entry-level counterparts, the rest of the fleet lacks any major upgrades.

The only noteworthy innovations are the new 7-inch touchscreen of the FXs, as well as a revamped audio system.
