Before the appearance of the SuperJet, Kawasaki Jet Skis dominated the stand-up PWC market.
But everything changed in 1990 when Yamaha introduced its first stand-up PWC, the Superjet 650. This model was phased out in 1994 by the single-carbed SuperJet 701.
Thanks to their lively engine and excellent design, these skis become widely popular among racers and recreational riders.

Yamaha SuperJet 701 RN Hull and Top Deck
The 1996-2007 Yamaha SuperJet was often referred to as the round-nose SuperJet 701, or just SuperJet 701 RN.
This was no coincidence since this model came built on the second-generation SuperJet platform.
Unlike its predecessor, which featured a squared bow design, the new platform was engineered with a sleeker, more rounded top deck. Hence the name “Round Nose” (or RN).

While its simpler sibling featured a single Mikuni BN44 carburetor and delivered 62.5hp, the new variant enjoyed two Mikuni BN38 carbs, which ensured an engine power of 73hp.
