Sea-Doo Rise Review

Innovative electric hydrofoil boards have been around since the mid-2010s but are becoming more prevalent these days.

Therefore, it is not surprising that more and more manufacturers are entering this sector, and Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) is no exception.

The Canadian manufacturer is well-known for its off-road powersport vehicles, pontoon boats, and Sea-Doo PWCs.

On August 7, 2022, the company announced that it was entering the hydrofoil market when it revealed its Rise electric hydrofoil (efoil) board.

Although this watersport equipment enjoys the well-known Sea-Doo brand name, it’s vastly different than its personal watercraft family members.

The Rise is actually a surfboard-like watersport equipment with a wing attached to the bottom. The heart of this board is an all-electric motor paired with a propeller, ensuring a clean silent operation

When the Rise is moving in the water its hydrofoil wing acts like an airplane wing by decreasing the water pressure above while increasing it under the wing.

This eventually causes the board to lift out of the water. The speed can be adjusted by remote control.

Unlike many competitor models, the Rise can be used as an electric surfboard without rising out of the water. This is due to its design because the foil can be folded up inside the board when not in use.

What’s more, the board offers various riding positions, since you can surf on it standing up, kneeling, or even lying down.

It also comes standard with a retractable handlebar, which gives riders more confidence, especially first-time riders.

The Rise is not only intended for professional surfers and wakeboard enthusiasts.

Instead, the manufacturer recommends it for anyone, even for complete beginners. This makes the Rise a perfect watertoy for the entire family!

Takeaways

The Rise is an electric hydrofoil board that will be the newest member of the popular Sea-Doo family.

The manufacturer promises to release specifications in 2023 with the first Sea-Doo Rise hydrofoil boards hitting dealerships in 2024.

We can’t wait to give it a test ride!
