2022 Sea-Doo GTX Line Review

The GTX series represents the Touring models in the widely popular Sea-Doo fleet. As the name of this category suggests, these machines are designed for long rides.

The 2022 Sea-Doo GTX family includes four models, which share the same predictable ST3 platform. This large comfortable hull is made of fiberglass and offers industry-leading stability.

Regarding dimensions, the Sea-Doo ST3 platform is 135.9 inches long, 49.2 inches wide, and 44.8 inches high.

Its large two-piece Ergolock seat comes with a stepped design and can carry three adult riders safely and legally. The weight capacity of the GTX line is uniformly 600 pounds.

This hull also houses an 18.5-gallon fuel tank, which ensures excellent fuel range. The total storage capacity of these skis is 26.1 gallons, which is made up of a 0.8-gallon glove box and a 25.3-gallon front storage compartment.

However, unlike regular jet skis with a simple front storage bin, the ST3 hull has a direct-access front storage. This design allows you to reach the storage compartment without getting off the seat.

As you can imagine, it’s a huge advantage on open waters.

Let’s drill into the details and compare the four Sea-Doo GTX models head-to-head!

The entry-level model in the Sea-Doo touring fleet is the GTX 170. In fact, this is the only Touring Sea-Doo that is powered by a naturally-aspirated engine option.

Its 1630cc, 4-stroke, 3-cylinder Rotax engine is rated at 170 HP and features an industry-unique closed-loop cooling system (CLCS).

Its base supercharged brothers, the GTX 230 and GTX 300 are identical to the GTX 170, except for their more powerful engine options.

The GTX 230 has 230 HP, while the engine of the GTX 300 is rated at 300 HP. The power source of these skis is the same supercharged 1630cc, 4-stroke, 3-cylinder Rotax ACE; but the performance of the GTX 230 is electronically restricted to 230 HP.

The standard features of the base Sea-Doo GTX models (170, 230, 300) include:

The flagship model in the 2022 Sea-Doo Touring line is the Sea-Doo GTX Limited 300. This top-of-the-line model comes with unique color schemes and is powered by the 300 HP supercharged engine option.

Also, the ski is equipped with some extra bells and whistles, including:

One of the most innovative features of the GTX Limited 300 is its 7.8” Panoramic Bluetooth Color Display. This dashboard provides you with a lot of valuable information that can come in handy on your rides.

In a nutshell, the key features of Sea-Doo’s 7.8” Panoramic Bluetooth Color Display are as follows:
