Just like the RXT-X line, the Sea-Doo RXP-X has a long history as well.
In recent years we haven’t seen too many changes on these models, but for 2021 Sea-Doo surprised the market, and released the all-new RXP-X 300!
To the delight of performance-minded buyers and racers, this new model comes on a redesigned platform and has many exciting new features.

Hull and Dimensions
According to popular belief, the RXP-X ‘s hull wasn’t completely redesigned from scratch. Instead, the well-proven T3 hull got some important upgrades.
The main advantage of this new hull design is that it makes the craft easier to handle for beginner and intermediate riders. On the other hand, the hull still kept its sporty and aggressive attributes.
What’s more, thanks to the deep keel with soft-edged chines, the tweaked T3 hull is more aggressive at the corners than ever! Other cool features are the “Shark Gills,” which look exactly as their name implies.
Simply put, these gills regulate the airflow below the waterline. This leads to more predictable turning and better stability at high speeds. According to the manufacturer, the Shark Gills not only provide better control and stability, but also helps to handle choppy water better.
Regarding dimensions, the new RXP is 49.2” wide and 130.6” long. This means the hull has the same length and is one inch wider compared to its predecessor.
The biggest difference can be seen in their weight, as the new RXP-X is surprisingly 67 pounds lighter! As the previous generation weighed 847 pounds, this design change resulted in a weight loss of almost 8%!
The engine and the fuel tank were also repositioned two inches forward. Moreover, the top deck was also slightly redesigned to move the rider closer to the nose.
All of these changes have a single purpose, to move the center of gravity towards the bow. This results in more aggressive cornering, which makes the RXP-X perfect for racing!
The top deck is made of acrylic molded CM-Tech fiberglass and features LinQ connectors as well.
RXP-X 300 Engine
The engine of the RXP-X 300 is a 1630cc, 4-stroke, 3-cylinder Rotax power source. Thanks to the supercharger, this power plant provides no less than 300 HP. You can find the same engine in many other performance and luxury Sea-Doo models such as the RXT-X 300, GTX Limited 300, and the GTR 300.
Fuel Capacity and Storage
Although it’s designed for racing, the RXP-X 300 offers the biggest storage space in the fleet. The 40.6-gallon overall storage includes a smaller 2.56-gallon glove box and a front bin with 37.78 gallons of capacity.
It also features a large, 18.5-gallon fuel tank, which can also be found in other top-performance Sea-Doo models.

How fast does a Sea-Doo RXP-X 300 go?
While the official (limited) top speed of the 2021 Sea-Doo RXT-X 300 is around 67-69 mph, based on real-life tests it can hit an amazing 73.8 mph without the speed limiter!
The reduced weight also means a better power-to-weight ratio, which results in better acceleration.
According to the Watercraft Journal, the acceleration of the 2021 Sea-Doo RXT-X is: 0-50 mph in 2.9 seconds, while it can go from 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds. If we compare this performance to its predecessor, we can see that the new model is 0.3 seconds faster on the 0-60 mph run.

Although these numbers vary from one ride to the next, the 2021 Sea-Doo RXP-X 300 can burn about 20-22 gallons of gas per hour at full speed. This results in around 3 miles per gallon, so you can expect about 60 miles of riding on one tank of gas. Features and Accessories
The most exciting feature of the new RXP-X 300 is arguably Sea-Doo’s newest invention, the iDF. Known as the Intelligent Debris Free system, the iDF can remove debris from the pump at the touch of a button.
Are you wondering how it works?
Simply put, the system turns the rotation of the driveshaft into reverse. This makes the impeller spin backwards and forces the water towards the intake grate.
It’s a great feature to remove seaweed and any other debris that gets stuck to the intake grate. You can learn more about the amazing iDF system here.
Many think that the iDF is a reverse system and replaces Sea-Doo’s iBR. At first glance it makes sense, as the iDF forces water in the opposite direction in the pump.
But it’s also good to know that this only takes 12 seconds! This means the engine gives a short ‘boost’ to the impeller, then turns itself off. Because of this, the impeller cannot generate enough thrust to back up the Sea-Doo.
Therefore, besides the iDF you can still find the iBR system on these models. The iBR works regularly as it’s completely separated from the iDF.
You may be surprised, but the basic RXP-X 300 features a one-person saddle. Are you wondering why?
This is because according to the manufacturer’s research, RXP-X owners typically ride alone. In response to market demand, Sea-Doo released a new seat design, the “Ergolock-R.” Simply put, this is a single rider saddle, with an adjustable padded bolster on its rear.
If you want to carry a passenger on this RXP-X don’t worry, as you can do it safely and legally! All you need to do is purchase the optional passenger seat, which is sold separately for $399. This can turn the RXP-X from a racing machine into a regular 2-up PWC.
Just like its predecessor, the 2021 Sea-Doo RXP-X features an adjustable steering neck, which can also be found on the Spark Trixx. However, it’s already available as an option for $175.
The good news is that the BPR Premium Sound System is already available on the RXP-X as well! However, it’s only an optional accessory, so it comes with a hefty price tag. Be prepared to pay no less than $800 for this 100-watt Bluetooth-controlled sound system.
Although the RXP-X didn’t get the same color LCD dashboard as the GTX Limited 300, its smaller screen still works well. Besides the speedometer it features a check engine light, trim settings, fuel gauge, as well as the tachometer.
