Update: The new RXP-X 325 is here with the amazing 325hp engine option!

The Sea-Doo RXP-X Apex 300 is considered the flagship model in the 2023 Sea-Doo lineup. This ski is an upgraded version of the base RXP-X 300, featuring a unique color scheme, carbon fiber components, the special Hydraulic Steering Damper, and the Tech Package.

If you want to find out more about this ski, you’ve come to the right place.

We at JetDrift have compiled all you need to know into this detailed 2023 Sea-Doo RXP-X Apex 300 review!

2023 Sea-Doo RXP-X Apex 300 Review

The manufacturer introduced the RXP-X Apex 300 as “the most exclusive high-performance PWC ever created by Sea-Doo,” and with good reason.

Although this ski shares a great deal in common with the base RXP-X 300, it was pimped up with some race-intended features.

Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty and talk about them in detail!

The Sea-Doo RXP-X Apex 300 Hull and Capacities

The RXP-X Apex 300 is built on the proven T3-R hull measuring 130.6 inches in length, 49.2 inches in width, and 44 inches in height (with the steering in a low position).

You can expect the dry weight of the ski to be 780 pounds while its load limit is 400 pounds.

This massive hull can carry two adult riders with the optional passenger seat, but the standard racing seat offers space for only one rider. You can load your gear into a roomy front storage compartment and a watertight glove box, which have a total capacity of 40.6-gallons.

The sporty but convenient cockpit is equipped with a wide range of race-intended features, including a low-rise racing handlebar, hydraulic steer damper, Ergolock-R System with a racing seat, and double-angled footwell wedges.

While its base brother is available in Premium Triple Black and Millennium Yellow color scheme, the Apex is dressed in a Graphite Gray/Racing Green.

The racing attitude of this ski is also enhanced with a carbon fiber hood and mirrors, plus blacked-out logos.

The Sea-Doo RXP-X Apex 300 Engine and Propulsion

To the greatest regret of many fans, the Apex 300 didn’t get an upgraded engine option.

This means that under the hood there’s the standard supercharged 1630 ACE 300 engine, pretty much the same one as in the base RXP-X 300, the RXT-X 300, and the GTX 300/GTX 300 Limited.

Marketed as the most powerful Sea-Doo engine, this 1630cc, SOHC, 4-stroke triple puts out 300 HP (217 kW) at 8000 RPM.

Engine power is delivered to a standard axial-flow, single-stage Sea-Doo jet pump. This heavy-duty aluminum jet pump utilizes a stainless steel impeller and a large hub with double-row ball bearings.

Despite the Apex featuring a direct drive system, the engine houses a special “reverse gear” called iDF (Intelligent Debris Free system). This feature is intended to clear the pump area with the press of a button, so it doesn’t act as a reverse gear.

Just like any other Sea-Doo, the RXP-X Apex 300 can also be backed up and slowed down with the iBR reverse bucket.

The top speed of the Apex 300 is a (limited) 67 mph and it can accelerate from 0 to 50 mph in under 3 seconds. This breathtaking power, matched with its race-inspired handling results in an outstanding riding experience!

The Sea-Doo RXP-X Apex 300 Features

In a nutshell, the standard features of the Sea-Doo RXP-X Apex 300 are as follows:

Let’s talk about the most exciting ones in detail!

Hydraulic Steering Damper

There’s no question that the most unique feature of the Apex 300 is its hydraulic steering damper.

As the name suggests, this component is designed to dampen the forces caused by choppy waters. This results in less fatigue and more comfortable rides, especially in rough water conditions.

Low-rise racing handlebar

The RXP-X Apex 300 can be steered by a low-rise racing handlebar, ensuring a more race-focused and aggressive riding position.

Ergolock-R System

The Ergolock-R System offers outstanding ergonomics, which virtually “locks” you to the machine. This system includes unique deep knee pockets, a sticky seating surface, and the high-backed Sea-Doo racing seat.

A passenger seat is also available for the Apex 300 as an option.

X-Sponsons

The race-inspired “X-sponsons” also contribute to the precise handling and increased turning abilities.

Double-angled footwell wedges

Besides high-performance sponsons, another key feature of this ski is its double-angled footwell wedges. They offer great support for your feet, translating to more stability and safety during aggressive accelerations and tight turns.

VTS – Variable Trim System

You can set the position of the jet nozzle quickly with the VTS buttons on the left handlebar. A perfect trim setting helps you get the most out of the craft and avoid porpoising.

Launch Control

A unique feature of the Apex 300 is its button-press launch control, which can help you handle the massive power of this supercharged machine.

Just activate the launch control with the VTS buttons and accelerate like a pro!

Tech Package

Although the Tech Package is available on most Sea-Doos as an option, it comes standard on the Apex 300.

This package includes the following useful features:

  • Full-color 7.8-inch display
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • USB and smartphone app integration
  • BRP Bluetooth Audio Premium system

This package is optional on the standard RXP-X 300.
